Ricardo Bocanegra Sánchez
He was one of the first to foresee the importance of Russian investment for the Costa del Sol, and he has processed residency permits not only for Russians but for thousands of foreigners of all nationalities and social and economic backgrounds. In order to support resident foreigners, he founded the Federation of Foreigners Associations of the Costa del Sol in 1991, and as president of FAECOSOL, he achieved numerous accomplishments for the benefit of foreigners.
He has always been at the forefront of defending the interests of foreigners, aware of the fundamental importance of residential tourism for the economy of the province of Málaga. He is the author of numerous works and articles on immigration and has been a speaker at various conferences in foreigner associations and City Councils of the Costa del Sol aimed at resident foreigners.
For this reason, over the course of these 42 years, he has received various distinctions:
- Businessman of the Year in 2012 in Marbella, chosen by the Association of Entrepreneurs and Professionals (CIT Marbella) for his professional trajectory.
- Medal from the Moscow City Duma for his support to Russian residents in Spain.
- Recognition from British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher for his defense of the interests of British residents in Spain.
- Title of "Honorary Foreigner" granted by the International Institute of Foreign Property Owners in Altea (Alicante), in appreciation of his defense of the interests of foreigners throughout Spain.
- Numerous diplomas from foreigner associations and City Councils of the Costa del Sol for his work in favor of foreign residents and for the countless talks given to citizens of different nationalities.
- Decoration from the Russian Federation, in appreciation of his fundamental role in the achievement of the Russian Museum in Malaga.
- Sponsor for the year 2024 of the business club "Sinergias Club."
Ricardo Bocanegra speaks English and Russian, and has served as the official herald for the Holy Week and the patron saint celebrations of Marbella. Married to the journalist and writer Viruca Yebra, with whom he has two children, he knows how to enjoy both his personal and professional life with the personal elegance that a person with values possesses.
